After a private screening at my home on a beautiful Friday evening in September, we’re now ready to launch “Saint Nicholas: An Italian Puppet Opera” into the world.

About the movie:

Italian puppeteers Girolamo Botta and Alessandra Guadagna tell the touching, dramatic and moving story of the real St. Nicholas, who lived in the 3rd and 4th centuries on the shores of the Mediterranean.

Filmed in Sulmona’s magnificent Maria Caniglia Theater, this evocative production will bring you to greater hope and faith in the one in whom St. Nicholas placed his trust. The team is completed by narrator Christian Zulli, clarinetist Luca Giardino and off-stage support from Maria Zulli and Besir Shakjiri.

The show was filmed on Dec. 9, 2023 by Noah Oehler and Bo Elder, with film direction and editing by Eric Elder, and is based on the book “St. Nicholas: The Believer” written by Eric and Lana Elder. The book is available in English, Italian, or Spanish at https://inspiringbooks.com.
